Amazing Alsace 2-part Online Course for TWO
With more Michelin-starred restaurants relative to its size, and more hours of sunshine than most other parts of France, Alsace is a fascinating region.
It is one of the great, under-appreciated treasures of the wine world. This pretty enclave of fairytale villages in the lee of the forested Vosges Mountains is a lovely place to visit and offers unique wines.

If you are tired of oaky whites, try Alsace. Here winemakers deliberately avoid new wood or buttery malolactic fermentation, preferring instead the direct, fruity aromas of each grape variety.
And although some of the grape names may sound very German (e.g. Riesling, Gewurztraminer), there is a distinct different between drier Alsace wines and German wines despite its proximity to the German border.
When you understand the richness of the Alsace wine tradition, you begin to appreciate why these wines can be lifesavers in restaurants. They rescue certain culinary situations where many other wines would fail.
For an explanation of the key grape varieties, the foods they can pair, the levels of wine made in Alsace and what makes it so throughly unique, join us for a 2-part online course exploring the main styles of wine.
We'll get an overview of the three most common noble grape varieties and experience the difference a Grand Cru vineyard makes.
Note - you need only consume a tasting sample of each wine opened during the session and can follow our wine preservation tips to keep leftovers for another day.
