Tale of Two winemakers from Piemonte
A terrific opportunity to focus on wines made by two different producers from Piemonte.
Manzone Fratelli was established 176 years ago near the town of Monforte d'Alba and is still run today by the same family. And Francesco Scanavino is another producer in the area making distinctive handcrafted wines from small vineyards with the help of consultant oenologist Angelo Torrielli.
The landscape of the Langhe hills is covered in vines with hilltop towns dotted amongst them. In the distance the snowy Alps can be seen and in autumn a red haze covers the land as vine leaves change colour.
A UNESCO World Heritage site since 2014, the Langhe boasts gorgeous views and a long history of traditional vine-growing and winemaking techniques. The world renowned Barolo wine was born here - produced in the heart of the Langhe on beautiful hills. It has a reputation for being King of Wines.
