Champagne & Sparkling Wine
Come enjoy a decadent evening of fine sparkling wine! We'll sample 6 sparkling wines including vintage Champagne, Prosecco and English Sparkling wine.

For many people a glass of fizz before the start of a meal can be among the most enjoyable drinks of the evening.
The processes involved in making a wine sparkle is key to its flavours and style. We will sample Champagne and compare with different Champagne look-a-likes from around the world (e.g. Cava, Prosecco) including some lovely English Sparkling Wine!
We will also learn about the historical method that gives us the most beautiful bubbly, understand terms on the label (e.g. 'NV', 'Brut' and 'Blanc de Blanc') and what these actually tell us about the wine inside our glass.
And we will taste a beautiful vintage Champagne to experience the flavours and effects that can only come from extra ageing as well as examining other wines from around the world made in the traditional way and ask 'are they as good?'
Halfway through the evening hotel staff will bring in plates of chips to share so that you find out why we recommend Champagne with deep fried food. It's a classic food and wine pairing that simply must be tried!
This evening can be booked on its own or as part of our core 8-week course - book all 8 evenings and GET ONE NIGHT FREE! The 8-week course is flexible, so if you have to skip an evening you can pick it up next time.
All tastings include; minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet and use of professional tasting glasses.
