4-Week Iberian Adventure
Travel to the land of flamenco, tapas, sangria and sunshine! Spain and Portugal offer some of Europe's best value for money wine!
In addition to well-loved classics like Rioja, Port, Cava and Vinho Verde we'll be taste wines from up and coming regions like Jumilla, learnabout new grape varieties like Bobal and see how a new generation of young winemakers is pushing Iberian wines to a new and exciting level. There is so much to taste and enjoy in these four weeks.
We will group wines together that are stylistically similar. For example, we'll have one night comparing white wines of Spain and Portugal rather than split them across different weeks. This sort of approach helps you practice your tasting skills and get to grips with styles sweeping through this area at the moment.
The Thursday evenings will be:
- 23 MAY: Terrific Tempranillo and other Classic Reds including Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Touriga Nacional in the Douro
- 30 MAY: Great Garnacha and other New Wave Reds including Priorat, La Mancha, Monastrell in Jumilla and Bobal
- 06 JUN: Whites including Albarino, Vinho Verde, Rioja Blanco, Penedes
- 13 JUN: Oddities including a selction of the finest Fortified wines (Port, Sherry, Madeira), organic Cava, sweet wines
Our multi-week courses are completely flexible, meaning that if you can't attend one evening you are welcome to send someone else in your place or let us know in advance and collect a 'credit' to use against the cost of any other wine school tasting.
