There's no place like Rhone - Rhone Tasting Masterclass
Come and discover beautiful wines of the Rhone valley and learn more about our exclusive short break wine trips to the region!
The excellent Rhone Valley Masterclass is back for 2019! Featuring top wines from some lesser known parts of the Rhone and expert guidance from our Rhone expert Linda.
The Rhone Valley is one of the most historic regions for wine production, with evidence of winemaking going back over 2500 years! It is the second largest wine production area in France and the first to have an Appellation Contrôlée regulation to guarantee the quality of wines produced in the region!
There are many styles of wine produced here: whites are complex and aromatic, made from grape varieties such as Viognier and Marsanne. Reds can be savoury and smoky or full bodied and spicy made from Syrah, Grenache and a whole range of other grape varieties you may not have heard of. And as well as that you can get some excellent dessert wines.
On the Rhone Valley Masterclass evening you will taste 6 wines from the region, presented by the wonderful Linda Field: a certified WSET Educator who now lives in the Rhone Valley where she runs the wine school Auberge du Vin. The wines will include a selection of different styles, but also some local specialities you may not normally find in the UK. As well as this you will get an overview of the different appellations of the Rhone Valley, and Linda will share about current wine making practices, trends and tourism and bring you right about to date with this dynamic and exciting region.
We're now organising a twice-yearly 4-day wine tour from Cambridgeshire Wine School to the Rhone valley - come and find out more!
This wine tasting evening also makes a great gift voucher idea.
