Wines of the Rhone Masterclass
Come and discover beautiful wines of the Rhone valley and learn more about our exclusive short break wine trips to the region!
Did you know the French have been making wine in the Rhone Valley for over 2,500 years? And that the area is the second largest quality wine producing region in France?
We're now organising a twice-yearly 4-day wine tour from Cambridgeshire Wine School to the Rhone valley (2019 is already completely sold out)!
Come along to this tasting if you are interested in learning more about our wine trips and getting a taste for what our next available trip (Thurs 23 - Sun 26 April 2020) will include. This evening is suitable for anyone who likes Rhone wines or who would like to know more about our wine tours.
We are delighted to welcome Linda Field to host this evening tasting. Linda is a Certified WSET Educator who lives in the Rhone Valley full time and runs the holiday accommodation and wine school we are using there - Auberge du Vin. We'll be staying in Linda's lovely accommodation set right in the middle of a vineyard. From her base we'll go out and visit local wineries and restaurants and taste and learn more about the wine!
This evening event will include an overview of the different appellations of the Rhone Valley, from Cote Rotie in the north to the Luberon Valley in the south, and explain the different styles of wine produced. You will taste at least six different wines, many of which are unavailable in the UK including several different top red wines from the Cotes du Rhone, which offer quality and value, and wines from other leading appellations in the area, such as Lirac, Gigondas, Rasteau and Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Auberge du Vin is near Mount Ventoux, has lovely bedrooms and a heated outdoor swimming pool and tasting rooms. It is limited to a maximum of 12 guests ensuring our group is small enough to gain access to boutique wineries in the area that large tours could never visit. (See pics to the right).
All food, wine, accommodation and local transport is included in the price including airport pickups - just pay separately for your flights.
At this event Linda will share her findings about current winemaking practices, marketing and tourism and bring you right up to date with this dynamic and exciting wine region.
This is a wonderful opportunity to get a taste of what coming with us for a wonderful wine holiday break would be like - don't miss the chance to find out!
his wine tasting evening also makes a great gift voucher idea.
