Corporate & Private Tastings
Cambridgeshire Wine School also runs professionally organised wine events tailored to meet the demands of business and private clients.
"A fantastic evening. We have had many kind responses from our clients saying how much they enjoyed Mark’s presentation. It was great fun and the competition with teams created a brilliant atmosphere with lots of banter! Highly recommended." (David Wakelin, Michael Page Recruitment, July 2013).
"Brilliant evening. Refreshing to hear the science behind the drinking!" (Mike, Barclays staff social, Dec 2012).
We run corporate events for companies, both large and small anywhere in the UK. Our packages can be tailored to meet a wide variety of client requirements and to suit most budgets. Companies use us for events such as:
- Client Entertainment
- Staff Team-Building, Reward/Entertainment
- Business Seminars/Conferences (usually prior to dinner!)
We also host fund-raising wine tastings for many local & national charitable organisations.
"Really excellent evening - informative and tasty!" (Andrew France, Ernst & Young social networking for staff and clients, Oct 2012)..
Our format for an evening can be tailor made, but normally includes the following -
- Hire/cleaning of professional ISO tasting glasses
- Chilling equipment for optimal serving of white wines
- Approx 6 different high-quality wines
- Professional tasting notes /quiz sheets on each wine
- Digital projection equipment with DVDs/Maps/Slides
- A fun quiz/team format tutored tasting
- Nez du Vin Aroma - sets of wine-related scents (fun!)
"Very entertaining. Great format." (Jeff Windsor, client of Ernst & Young, Oct 2012).
We can advise on suitable venues or run the event at the clients premises/offices. The event can take many formats, from fun and informal with quiz/team element, to a tutored wine tasting with a wide variety of wines and it can be planned to last for as long as required - from a 30 minute pre-dinner Champagne tasting to a full 'Introduction to Wine'. All equipment, glasses, wine, notes etc are supplied.
One proven & successful format involves a fun, team-based wine quiz based on a blind-tasting game with lots of carefully-picked clues which allow novices as much chance of winning as seasoned wine drinkers.
Wine Tastings can also include a rapid introductory session on how to taste wine – explained in a no-nonsense practical way - and our aroma phial kits, a box of wine-related aromas that are a uniquely inventive way of developing the guests' sensory skills in a way that provides entertainment and interest. Theme evenings can include French vs New World, Australia vs America, old wine or young wine, Italy vs Spain etc.
Please Contact Mark Anstead who will be happy to discuss - formats, themes, dates, locations, numbers, budgets etc
We can also arrange private wine tastings at a selected venue, or in your own home if you wish. We usually advise a minimum party size of 8 for cost reasons and can offer advice on themes and wines if you wish, or source wines to suit your own preference. The tasting usually runs for 1.5 to 2 hours, but can be tailored to suit your requirements. Prices vary depending upon location, numbers and of course the type of wine, but for larger groups can be as little as £15 per head. And click here for a luxury experience for small groups in Cambridge's only private members' club!
Or, for something different, why not consider hiring us for a privately Chauffered Wine Tasting Punt tour of the River Cam! Each punt holds 8-12 people and we can provide extra wine hosts for more than one punt!
