Wine Tasting on Punts
Punting in Cambridge - a popular small group activity, but with a difference!
What better way to enjoy lovely views of the college backs than a Wine Tasting Chauffered Punt on the river?
"Mark was great - very informative, fun and patient. Would love to do it again." (Kate, hen party group).
This is the ideal Cambridge punting experience for hen parties, staff socials and birthday groups! Take in the wonderful views of the colleges whilst enjoying a leisurely wine tasting on the river.
(Note we don't offer this as scheduled tours for individuals - group enquiries only please).
If you are looking for a novel social activity for your group, try this! Your wine host guides you through a selection of wines explaining the different styles and flavours as a fun blind guessing game asking you to correctly identify grape varieties (with our help and coaching).
Organised in partnership with licensed Cambridge punt tour operators, we will take you and your friends for a luxurious glide along the river for up to an hour taking in the sights while tasting samples of six delicious wines.
This is a terrific activity for corporate entertainment, whether staff social, team reward or other event. Simply call or email to let us know your group size and ideal date & time. The activity runs all year round and can either go along the college backs or out into the countryside towards Grantchester.
We can easily accommodate up to 23 people in two punts gliding together. For larger groups we can use more punts and bring in additional wine hosts.
The price will depend on the size of your group, but you pay between £25-£30 for the wine tasting including 6 wines with a fully qualified tutor to host the tour and all the equipment needed (chiller, glasses, professional notes).
You also pay the punting company separately for the chauffered punt, typically adding around £12/head.
Please contact Mark Anstead on 01223 655391 or 07989 606447 or email for an inclusive quote for your group.
Bad weather plan - being flat Cambridge receives less rainfall than average, but the punting company supplies umbrellas and blankets if it showers. In the case of bad rain we can decamp to a nearby dry location and do the wine tasting there instead.
