Cambridgeshire Wine School uses venues in the heart of Cambridge easy to reach.
We can also come to you (if you have enough people). If you are organising a social, we can add some wine tasting fun at the venue you have already arranged for your meal.
The hotel buiding was originally a row of large Georgian houses and its meeting rooms are spacious with high ceilings.
There is also free parking behind the hotel for wine school customers (although limited space).
We are delighted to host our Saturday courses in the spectacular Jesus College, which contains the oldest buildings in Cambridge University (dating back to 1147). We have use of the Bawden Room and the beautiful West Court dining room for a luxurious day tasting 13 wines incl. Champagne and a fabulous lunch!
If you are driving to a Saturday course you can park free of charge in the college for the duration of the event. Access is from Victoria Road: drive up to electric gate, press the buzzer and tell the Porter you are here for the wine tasting day and the gate will open. Click the map to see the marked route into the college to the car park.
If arriving by train you need to catch a taxi from the station.
By taxi or by foot, access to the college is from Jesus Lane. Walk up a long narrow passage called 'The chimney' into the college. Click the map to see the entrance point from Jesus Lane.
Cambridge also has 5 'park and ride' services operating at satellite points on the outskirts of the city (leave your car for free and take the bus to the bus station in the city centre just a few minutes walk from the college). The route is also marked on the map). Click here for Park & Ride details.
If you are looking for overnight accommodation in Cambridge, I can highly recommend searching SpeedyBooker.com. This site returns a wide range of options from city centre hotels to privately let rooms and even singles or doubles available to book as B&B within a Cambridge college! Using the handy map you can choose accommodation in central Cambridge so that you only have to walk from the college.
We also hold tastings for private groups and business socials at the Royal Cambridge Hotel, Cambridge Brew House, other select restaurants and a range of Cambridge Colleges (subject to availability).
Or we can come to you!
If you are coming into Cambridge by train, there is a bus from the train station every few minutes to the city centre - buses 1, 3, 7 and 8 all stop in St Andrews Street and from there our venues are just a short walk. Alternatively there are always taxis waiting at the station and the ride to any of our venues takes only 5-10 minutes.
